Project description: This project will improve fisheries habitat in Florida Creek. The project consists of increasing the channel size approx. 1200 feet of stream channel and constructing a rock-arch fishway downstream of a flood plain culvert. Both elements of the project are located near the intersection of county highway 12 and county road 13.

Location (city/township; county): Duluth; St. Louis Process: EAW Step: EAW available End of comment period: May 22, 2025 Project description: The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources proposes to improve hydrologic connectivity, reestablish deep-water habitat, reduce invasive species, and enhance coastal wetland habitat at Mud Lake within the St. Louis River Estuary. The proposed project would create a new channel, deep water habitat, hemi marsh and coastal marsh, remove a derelict concrete structure, and install a new 50-foot bridge. This is part of a collaborative effort under the Great Lakes Area of Concern Program to mitigate degradation and loss of habitat from historic activities in the St. Louis River. Project description: The Voyageur Country ATV Club (VCATV) is proposing up to 125 additional miles of roadway and natural surface trail to be included in the Voyageur Country ATV System, connecting communities in Koochiching and St. Louis counties. The proposed project includes 39 possible miles of existing route, 78 possible miles of existing route with improvements, and 8 possible miles of new trail. Project description: Minnesota Paving and Materials is proposing to expand its existing permitted mine area located in Delton Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. The project will include expanding the mineral extraction area of the existing mine operation by approximately 10 acres across two parcels of land.

Project description: The AUAR study area encompasses an area totaling approximately 140 acres on seven parcels in the City of Hampton and Hampton Township, both of which are in Dakota County, Minnesota. Two scenarios are proposed for evaluation in the AUAR. Scenario 1 includes multiple buildings for a total of 400,000 square feet of industrial, 150,000 square feet of highway commercial development, and 3.4 million square feet of agricultural land. Project description: The study area encompasses approximately 152 acres on 4 parcels in the City of Lakeville, Dakota County, Minnesota. Olam Holdings is proposing to develop the study area from existing farmland to light industrial or office park uses. The study area can be accessed primarily by 215th W St (CSAH 70) to the north. Secondary access points to the study area also include Jacquard Ave to the east and Kaparia Ave to the west. Two scenarios are proposed for evaluation. Scenario 1 includes multiple buildings for a total of 1,360,000 square feet of a proposed light industrial development. Scenario 2 includes multiple buildings for a total of 1,075,000 square feet of industrial and 285,000 square feet of office space. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor. They represent the raw data/information provided by callers.
