DOA Makes State Chief Information Security Officer Announcement |
|
Madison, Wis. - Today, the Department of Administration (DOA) has announced William (Bill) Brinkley as the incoming Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Wisconsin effective June 2, 2025. Brinkley most recently served as the director of information technology operations with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), with nearly two decades of technology and cybersecurity experience. Brinkley takes over the role from Troy Stairwalt, who stepped down earlier this year. “There are ever-growing pressures when it comes to cybersecurity, both here in Wisconsin and nationwide, and we’re excited to have Bill join the team to help strengthen our already robust cyber efforts as well as provide guidance to local government and critical sector entities across the state,” said Trina Zanow, State Chief Information Officer and administrator for the division of enterprise technology. "I am deeply honored and excited to serve as Wisconsin’s Chief Information Security Officer," said Bill Brinkley. "Joining Wisconsin’s dedicated public servants to advance cybersecurity is a privilege. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to protect critical state resources and ensure cybersecurity resilience essential for public trust by safeguarding technology that empowers workers and strengthens our communities." |
